22nd Annual Golf and Tennis Classic Raises Over $230,000

On October 3rd, the 22nd Annual Good Samaritan Hospital and Provident Bank Fall Golf & Tennis Classic raised over $230,000.  Held at the Ridgewood Country Club, with proceeds going to the expansion of the Emergency Department at Good Samaritan Hospital.

While hosting 174 golfers and 18 tennis players, many were able to show off their skills, but only a few were able to acquire the title of “winners.”  Bragging rights went to Rifkin & Co: Dan Rifkin, Matt Karger, Mike Connors and Mark Abeshouse for winning the Jim Jones Challenge (golf).  As for the tennis tournament, congratulations Dr. Gustavo Carbone, the 1st place winne!

The excitement didn’t end when the games concluded; as part of the fun filled occasion, the annual 10K Giveaway Raffle was a riveting hit.  This year, architects, Highland Associates, won the raffle and donated their winnings back to the hospital!

This year’s proceeds continue to fund the expansion and renovation at Good Samaritan Hospital’s Emergency Department.  The expansion includes the addition of a triage, private OB/GYN rooms, expanded point-of-care testing lab, and an exclusive Emergency Department Radiology Center that will include a state-of-the-art CT scanner and portable ultra-sound machine for greater efficiency and quick turnarounds.  The renovated facility will be fitted with up-to-date medical technology to ensure the patients of the Lower Hudson Valley continue to receive optimal care.
