Wound and Hyperbaric Institute Receive Accreditation

Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY offers a plethora of top-notch and state-of-the-art medical services.  One of our most sophisticated and unique offerings are found within our Wound and Hyperbaric Institute. In late July, the Wound and Hyperbaric Institute at Good Samaritan Hospital (also offered at Bon Secours Community Hospital and St. Anthonys Community Hospital), received accreditation by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, the leading authority in hyperbaric medicine.

The Wound and Hyperbaric Institute at Good Samaritan Hospital offers 2 full size hyperbaric chambers that are capable of handling around 10 patients per day. The chambers are private and allow the patient to listen to music or even watch a movie while undergoing treatment.

Receiving this accreditation is no easy task.  Good Samaritan Hospital was subject to an expert evaluator who rated the center on commitment to staffing and training, operation, maintenance, and over 1597 other individual standards.  Congratulations to the entire GSH Wound and Hyperbaric team including Hyperbaric Medical Director, Bijo Chacko M.D. and Medical Director of Wound Care, Jay Levine, DPM.
